Tony and Lesley Macaulay are the Directors of Macaulay Associates Network Ltd. Married since 1986 they have two children, Beth and Hope who are currently students in their local integrated college.

Tony is the Network Leader and Senior Consultant and Lesley is Company Secretary and a Consultant / Facilitator.

Laura Coulter has a BSc in Social Administration and a Diploma in Community Work. She is currently completing an M. Phil in Reconciliation Studies.  For the past 20 years she has worked in the areas of community development, conflict transformation, parading, mediation and faith based reconciliation work. She is an experienced mediator, trainer and facilitator in conflict resolution and cultural diversity.  She has a particular interest in working with church groups and facilitating dialogue around issues of faith and reconciliation
Stephen Herron is an experienced social researcher, specialising in the area of conflict resolution and peace studies.  Currently a Social Anthropology PhD student at Queen’s University Belfast, Stephen has undertaken numerous research projects with a focus on the role of community reconciliation and development activities in a post conflict society. Stephen has previously acted as a Research Associate for the Oxford based institute, The Social Issues Research Centre.  With over 5 years experience in the community development sector, especially in the South Armagh area, Stephen has also undertaken work as a Political Advisor in Stormont where he focused on a number of key policy and legislative areas.
Stephanie Mitchell has over twenty years experience of group facilitation, education and training. A qualified art teacher with a particular interest in drama, she has written and delivered highly interactive personal education and training programmes using creative methods that promote a fuller understanding of our vulnerability and interconnectedness as humans. Her PhD and related research activity all concern aspects of social justice, reflected in her numerous publications. She is currently commissioned to write a series of individual case studies based on her extensive work with refugees, asylum seekers and migrants and the Integration Project that she coordinates recently won an Intercultural Achievement Award from OFMDFM for Community Cohesion.
Dr Lesley Abbott has been a researcher for 25 years and her work is located within the Northern Ireland education system.  Her interests include inclusive schooling, integrated schools, the professional needs of newly qualified teachers, special educational needs, and using technology to promote cultural awareness through cross-national cooperation among primary and post-primary pupils.  On-going research involvement relates to the delivery and impact of the Global Dimension through the Northern Ireland Curriculum, and the Teacher e-Portfolio (NI) Project.  She has taught Research Methods to TESOL students at the University of Ulster for the last three years. She has co-authored 15 research reports and has had 26 articles published in peer-reviewed academic journals, as well as a book chapter, a book review and two sets of conference proceedings.  She has published twice in Research Intelligence.  In 2007, she was awarded the Brian Simon Research Fellowship by the British Educational Research Association.

With 25 years experience Bernie Laverty is a skilled and successful manager, consultant and peace-worker. Her qualifications include:

Her many successes include the development of a flagship peace and reconciliation centre along a highly contentious interface in West Belfast. Her experience includes working internationally in the Balkans and with statutory care and education systems within the Republic of Ireland.

Karl Tooher is a highly skilled and experienced, consultant, manager, trainer and therapist. With over twenty years working in the community and voluntary sectors he has successfully delivered a wide range of services both nationally and internationally in diverse areas:

  • Organisational development, strategic planning, recruitment, change management, systemic analysis, research, evaluation and problem solving.
  • Non-violence work, youth work, cultural diversity work, peace and conflict work; story-sharing and group facilitation.
  • A highly trained and qualified therapist he is especially experienced in working with trauma and its impact. He has helped develop therapy services, chaired task forces, and founded self-injury Ireland.
